Harper Lee was an American novelist best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird," published in 1960. Born in Monroeville, Alabama, in 1926, Lee's work is celebrated for its exploration of racial injustice and moral growth. Her novel remains a classic of modern American literature. Lee lived a reclusive life and released her second novel, "Go Set a Watchman," in 2015, shortly before her death in 2016.
