Walter Trier

Walter Trier was a celebrated illustrator known for his whimsical and charming artwork. Born in Prague in 1890, he gained fame for illustrating Erich Kästner's children's books, notably "Emil and the Detectives." Trier's work is characterized by its playful style and vibrant characters, making him a beloved figure in children's literature. After emigrating to Canada during World War II, he continued to create art until his passing in 1951.
